Hack Kaspersky Password

Applies to:

  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations, version 6.0.4.x

  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 SOS, version 6.0.4.x

  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers, version 6.0.4.x

Description

The password used for accessing the application has been lost / forgotten.

User cannot access application settings, uninstall or update the application.


Solution

In order to restore the password:

  • Reboot the PC in safe mode.

  • Go to application installation folder (C:Program FilesKaspersky Lab<application_name>).

  • Rename the file avp.exe (into temp.exe, for example).

  • Reboot the PC in normal mode.

  • Run the renamed file (temp.exe).

  • Click Settings in the main application window.

  • Select Options in the left frame.



  • Uncheck the following boxes in the right frame:

    • Enable Self-Defense (Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Servers / Workstations 6.0.4.x only).

    • Enable password protection
